According to our research into competitor apps, people in Uzbekistan use banking apps 2-3 times per month and often forget the location of the necessary transfer types, leading to a heavy workload for the support team and bank branches.

During the research, our team found out that residents of Uzbekistan mainly keep money on cards and use bank services only for transfers and payments.
The first unit of the Uzum ecosystem was a bank. The banking app was created from scratch. It was necessary to launch the production MVP version of the app for IOS and Android in 3 months.
Make a user flow for transfers where people don't need to contact the bank's support service to ask for help with making a transfer.

My task was to design the main screen of the app, where cards and transfers take center stage, with the option to add other banking products.
One entry point to the translation process is a universal page for entering an amount that changes depending on the type of transfer, and a final test flow for the user was successful. 0 user asked for help.

I created prototypes of several versions of the main screen and tested them using usability testing. This option proved to be the absolutely successful, so our team decided to use it as the first version of the app.

From Apelsin to Uzum
The company bought Apelsin wallet. And it was necessary to convert the Apelsin wallet into a bank under the Uzum brand.

Context

It was necessary to support dark and light themes in the app. The UI kit was incomplete, and components did not switch between themes. Components partially migrated into the design system in code.

Problem

Decide which registration system we will develop. Will we support dark and light themes? Arrange with the developers how to replace old components with new ones and check for errors.

And at the same time, it created a new feature.

The new solution increased the conversion to payment by 8 %.

The company bought Apelsin wallet. And it was necessary to convert the Apelsin wallet into a bank under the Uzum brand.

It was necessary to support dark and light themes in the app. The UI kit was incomplete, and components did not switch between themes. Components partially migrated into the design system in code.
